Credit Union cookout Friday

HOUGHTON — Breakwater Federal Credit Union will host its Annual Member Appreciation Cookout from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m. Friday, at the credit union on Sharon Avenue in Houghton. Vollwerth’s hot dogs and brats will be grilled outside at cookout that was originally scheduled for last Wednesday but was moved for weather reasons.

Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator Kayleigh White said everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of membership. “The entire community is welcome to come for free hot dogs and brats,” she said.

Breakwater will be giving away prizes on Friday are valued at $1,000 for members of all ages. White said there will be ten prizes for kids who are members and ten prizes for adult members.

Families, new and old members are welcome to participate in the festivities. Face painting, activities for kids and giveaways will be a part of the celebration.

White said if someone is not a member of Breakwater and wants to open an account or speak with a loan officer, they are welcome to walk into the office during the cookout.

“People are welcome to stop by and go inside talk to a member service representative…” she said. “Our MSRs are always available to open accounts.”
