Houghton – Downtown Houghton invites families, friends, and Halloween fans of all ages to join the 17th annual Treat Street on Oct. 17.
According to a press release from the City of Houghton, costumes are encouraged, and trick or treaters can visit participating businesses and organizations up and down Shelden Avenue.
Trick or treating runs from 6 – 8 p.m. and may start anywhere along Shelden Avenue. Businesses will be ready with candy and treats throughout the district. Please note the original time of 4-6 p.m. has been adjusted to 6 p.m. for smoother traffic flow.
The City of Houghton asks that families wait until 6 p.m. to begin trick or treating so all locations have time to prepare. Shelden will not be closed off until close to 6 p.m.
Participants are reminded to not form a line at City Center, as there will not be a haunted house this year.
Treat Street continues to be one of downtown Houghton's most loved fall traditions. And the city looks forward to welcoming the community for a safe and festive evening!
