Vehicle stolen in Keweenaw County

GRANT TOWNSHIP — At about 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, a black 2015 Nissan Pathfinder was stolen from Superior Street in Lac La Belle, according to a release from the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle has a white Sayen’s plate on the front bumper, with the Michigan registration listed as DQW0736. Undersheriff Tonya Stefonich said that according to available video footage, the driver appears to be a 34-year-old, white male, 5 feet, nine inches tall, 165 pounds with shoulder length hair. This will begin the MMP approval and development process, beginning with identifying the County Approval Agency through submitting a Notice of Intent, which is due by July 6. UPPCO urges caution around area hydroelectric reservoirs

UPPCO release Marquette — As winter settles in across the region, Upper Peninsula Power Company will begin lowering water levels at its hydroelectric reservoirs to prepare for melting snow and precipitation during the spring of 2024. UPPCO’s hydroelectric project licenses are issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and require these water level changes.
