Teresa L. Tormala

She was born in Hancock on September 19, 1961, a daughter of John and Nelma (Hirvi) Kupari and was a graduate of the Jeffers High School.

On December 2, 1978, she was married to JohnTormala in Baraga.

Teresa was employed for 26 years at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She is survived by her husband, John of Toivola, three sons; SSgt. U.S. Army, Nathan Tormala, stationed in Italy, Peter (Sara) Tormala of Chassell, 1st Lt. U.S. Air Force, Jared (Krystal) Tormala, stationed in Afghanistan; six grandchildren, Lisa, Marie, Jacob, Madison, Connor and Rosalie; two brothers, David (Debra) Kupari of Minnesota, and Paul Kupari of South Range; two sisters, Joyce (Gary) Tormala and Peggy Manninen, of Toivola; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nelma Kupari.

It was Teresa’s wishes to be cremated with no visitation or services.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
