Stephanie Lynn Karvonen

IRONWOOD – Stephanie Lynn Karvonen, 29, died unexpectedly in her sleep on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at her home in Ironwood.

Stephanie was born on May 4, 1986, in Hancock, to Cindy (Karvonen) Hall and Robert Kangas.

She was a 2004 graduate of Jeffers High School. After graduation, she lived in South Range and Appleton, and later moved to Ironwood, where she made her home.

Stephanie worked at various places after graduation. She especially enjoyed working at the Westgate Nursing Home in Ironwood, as a loving, caring, gifted nurses aide caring for the elderly.

Stephanie enjoyed spending time with her most precious son, Bryson and her fiance, Al. She was an avid football fan cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed camping and fishing.

She loved wearing her jewelry, her rings and enjoyed getting jewelry from her special ‘nana’. She was described by a cousin as such a “girly girl” and she liked to change hair styles, not knowing what color she would sport sometimes from week to week.

Stephanie was her papa and nana’s “special girl”. She grew up spending time with her cousins, forming special relationships with each one. She had formed a special bond with her future father-in-law, Al.

Stephanie is survived by her son, Bryson Ray Trainer of Ironwood; her parents, Cindy and Gene Hall of Ironwood; father, Robert Kangas of Skanee; fiance, Al Trainer III of Ironwood and his children, Mercedes and Reggie; her grandparents, Raymond and Gloria Karvonen of Atlantic Mine; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and an aunt.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015, at 12 p.m. in the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, with Pastor Scott Leutz to officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the mortuary. Burial will take place in the spring at the Atlantic Mine Cemetery.

A fund is in the process of being established for Stephanie’s two year old son, Bryson.
