Quentin Ruonavaara

BRAINERD – Quentin Ruonavaara, 78, resident of Brainerd, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Anna (Lassila) Ruonavaara; his 21 month old son, Trevor; and two sisters, Helen Kariniemi and Julia Holman.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; sons, Kevin (Cindy) of Snohomish, Washington, Terry (Heidi) of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Gordon of Monroe, Washington, John (Jennifer) of Snohomish, Washington, Edwin (Michele) of Menahga, Minnesota, Travis (Laurie) of Silt, Colorado, Jared (Taylor) of Wolf Lake, Minnesota, Jason (Amanda) of Deer Park, Washington; daughters, Karen (John) Stewart of Snohomish, Washington, Cheryl (Steve) Collette of East Gull Lake, Minnesota, Lisa (Gary) Simonson of Cokato, Minnesota, Carol (Richard) Johnson of Palmer, Arkansas, Connie (Bryan) Simonson of Deer Park, Washington and Lori (Luke) Glynn of Plymouth, Minnesota; 81 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Luella (Robert) Grangroth of Cokato, Minnesota, Mary (Roy) Skoog of Cokato, Minnesota, Izabel (George) Wisuri of Menahga, Minnesota; and one brother, Nathan (Miriam) of Calumet.

Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Laestadian Lutheran Church, 1501 South 8th Street, Brainerd.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
