Jean Kangas
TROY – Jean Eleanor Sophia Kangas, 84, of Troy, died quietly May 23, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 15, 1932, in Hancock to the late Henry and Hilja Haapapuro.
Mrs. Kangas worked in accounts payable at Madison Community Hospital for many years. She loved the Lord, had a strong work ethic and had “Sisu.”
Surviving are her children, Laura (James) Johnston of Newport and Richard Kangas of Troy; grandchildren, Alicia and Katie; siblings, Mae Hafner of Cleveland, Ohio, Norman (Loretta) Haapapuro of Wisconsin, Norma Rapelje of Livonia, June Barry of Tennessee, Evelyn (Byron) Killmar of California, Bruce (Carol) Haapapuro of Houghton, Karen McKee of White Lake and Beatrice (Bill Wittla) Place of Laurium.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2010; and by her siblings, Kenneth, Donald and John.
Family services were held at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
