Michael Haataja

He was born on September 29, 1956, in Laurium to Ezra and Marlene (Nordstrom) Haataja.

Michael graduated from Calumet High School. Following high school, he attended Central Michigan University, where he majored in computer science.

He worked as a computer programmer for most of his life.

He loved being outside. He loved to go on canoeing trips with his family. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marlene.

He is survived by his father, Ezra; brothers, Ron (Lynn) of Fort Worth, Texas, Mike (Betty) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dave (Linda) of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek, with Pastor Peter Gunderson to officiate.
