Arlene Stevens

LAKE LINDEN – Arlene Stevens, 82, of Lake Linden, passed away after a long illness, with her family by her side, at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell on September 24, 2016.

She was born on October 4, 1933, in Isabella, a daughter of William G. and Signe Bonifas. She was a graduate of Nahma Schools.

Arlene was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. She worked for 18 years at the Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools, retiring as the food service director.

She was married to George Stevens in 1957.

She liked to do cross-stitching and enjoyed going to the casino. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Melba Dupuis.

She is survived by four children, Sherry (Tom) Thomas of Lake Linden, William (Gina) Stevens of Lake Linden, Tom (Carol) Stevens of Kalamazoo and Mark (Susie) Stevens of Ahmeek; four grandchildren, Jerry (Rachel), Jessica, Shelby (Darren) and Andrew; one great-grandson, Carter; a sister, Corrine Smith of Grayling; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services.

Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden.

The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
