Victor “Ted” St. John

LAKE LINDEN – Victor “Ted” St. John, 96, a resident of Lake Linden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Our Lady of Mercy Health & Rehab.

He was born on August 8, 1920, in Lake Linden, to Eugene and Alice (LeFarve) St. John. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School with the Class of 1938.

He worked with the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company in Maintenance. He retired from Calumet & Hecla as Superintendent. Following Calumet & Hecla, he also worked at the Homestake Mines in Centennial.

Ted enlisted in the United States Army, serving in World War II.

On February 10, 1945, Ted was united in marriage to Jean C. Michaud in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.

Ted was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Alice; his wife, Jean; daughter, Sondra; son, Mark; brothers, Lawrence, Francis and Donald; and sisters, Helen, Jean, Theresa, and Katherine.

He is survived by a son, Daryl (Gudrun) St. John of Bootjack; daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” St. John of Lake Linden; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Ted will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Burial will take place at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
