Carol Lynn (Fraki) Bennetts

CALUMET – Carol Lynn (Fraki) Bennetts, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, with family by her side, at the Omega House. She was a lifelong resident of Calumet and Laurium.

Carol was born on June 19, 1940 to Martha and Ben Fraki in Laurium. She attended the Calumet schools and graduated from cosmetology school.

She married John Bennetts on October 17, 1964.

She worked as a beautician and in the family grocery store, Fraki Markets.

She enjoyed many summers in Eagle Harbor and many winters as a Hockey Mom.  Nothing brought her more joy in life though, than spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, Pikku and Harley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lisa Holmstrom; son, Scott Bennetts; sister, Mary Beaudoin; brother, James Fraki; brother-in-law, James Frankovich; and nephew, Stephen Frankovich.

She is survived by a son, Bob (Amy) Bennetts of Calumet; son-in-law, Rich Holmstrom of Kingsford; grandchildren, Molly Holmstrom of Ahmeek, John and Isaac Bennetts of Calumet, Ricky and Joey Holmstrom of Kingsford and Ruby, Olivia and Preston Hodges of Calumet; sister, Ruth Frankovich of Houghton; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends and wonderful neighbors.

Carol’s family would like to thank the loving staff at Aspirus Keweenaw, Aspirus at Home and the Omega House for their compassion and care.

A visitation will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m on Friday, December 23, 2016, with a memorial service to follow.
