Gloria Waara Young

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Gloria Waara Young, 81, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Farmington Hills, went peacefully to be with the Lord, with her daughters by her side on January 30, 2017.

She was born on July 6, 1935, in Calumet County, to the late Edward and Mary Waara.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; sons, Glen and wife, Tricia of Troy, Steven and wife, Meaghan of Grosse Pointe Farms; daughters, Lori Lawing and husband, Morrie of Denver and Kim Young of Charlotte; sister, Judy Butkiewicz; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Lutheran Church Farmington Hills, or Christ Church ARP Denver, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Christ Church ARP, Denver, North Carolina, with Rev. Morrie Lawing and Rev. Dean Turbeville officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
