Grace Trudell

Grace was born to Adelord and Mary (Huot) Hamel on August 25, 1925, in Lake Linden.

She attended Lake Linden High School graduating with the Class of 1944.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Trudell on April 7, 1945, at St. Joseph’s Church in Lake Linden. Raymond preceded her in death on July 23, 1986.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

In her early years, Grace worked at St. Joseph’s Elementary School and also at Asselin’s Meat Market in Lake Linden.

Daily, she enjoyed doing word puzzles and had a passion for bingo. Grace might have been the Green Bay Packers’ biggest fan.

She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. Her life was filled with many friends as she endeared herself to everyone she met. She truly was amazing Grace!

Love is her legacy…

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Arthur Hamel; sisters, Irene Hamel and Marie Harkonen; and special aunt, Margaret Huot.

Surviving is her son, Gary Trudell of Calumet; daughter, Donna (John Parisi) Trudell of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, Brad (Lisa) Trudell of Laurium, Brandon (Kristina) Guse of Oakland Township; great-grandchildren, Brett (Kate), Jasmine, Cruze, Aria, Lydia Grace Trudell and Ainsley Grace Guse; great-great- grandchild, Jenuine Trudell; brother, Walter Hamel of Laurium; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Honoring Grace’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Portage Pointe, Hancock, Grace Trudell Memorial Bingo/ActivityFund.

Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Portage Pointe, who have become family over the past six years.
