Anna ‘Ann’ I. Lorenz

FOND DU LAC, Wisc. — Anna “Ann” I. Lorenz, 96, of Fond du Lac, passed away September 16, 2017, at St. Agnes Hospital.

Ann had been residing at Tarfa Terrace Assisted Living in Fond du Lac. She was born March 25, 1921, in Tapiola, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Torvinen Heikkinen.

On January 23, 1946, she married the late Leonard H. Lorenz in Matoon, Wisconsin. They were married 55 years before he preceded her in death in 2001.

Ann was valedictorian of John A. Doelle High School, Class of 1940 in Tapiola. She worked at the Flint Public Library in Flint, when the couple resided there, and retired from the Michigan Tech Fund, Houghton, in 1984.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Ann loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. Her strong faith, wit and compassion will be sorely missed.

Ann is survived by one son, James (Janet) of Watertown; one daughter, Ann (Gary) Seyfert of Oakfield; five grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Pieper of Pound, Peter (Allison) Lorenz of Watertown, Michelle (Shawn) Abts of Pulaski, Jennifer (Rev. Jonathan) Schroeder of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Lauren (Jeremiah) Prochnow of Oakfield; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Pieper, Nathan, Caleb and Jadin Abts, Keith, Justin and Emily Schroeder, Dylan and Elle Prochnow; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Lorenz of Watertown; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; one son, Leonard P.; one greatgrandchild, Zach; six brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 245 S. 2nd Street in Oakfield.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Rev. Christopher Goelzer will officiate. Burial will be in the Estabrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and School or a charity of your choice.
