Lorraine Wilcox

HOUGHTON — Lorraine Wilcox, 98, a former resident of the Bluff’s Senior Living Community in Houghton, passed away Thursday morning, December 13, 2018, at the Pewabic House of Portage Pointe in Hancock, where she had been a resident for the past four years.

Lorraine was born in Glendive, Montana, a daughter of the late John and Cecile (Wheeler) O’Neil. As a young girl, she moved to Jackson, where she graduated from school.

In 1942, Lorraine was united in marriage, to George Wilcox. The couple had resided in Jackson, where they raised their family. Before retirement, the couple had resided in North Carolina and Queretaro, Mexico. After retirement, they moved to Whitefish Bay.

In 2002, after 60 years together, George preceded Lorraine in death.

In 2007, Lorraine moved to make her home at the Bluff’s Senior Living Community in Houghton, until becoming a resident at Pewabic House at Portage Pointe in Hancock.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; her sister, Audrey O’Neil; and infant triplet brothers.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Dallas) Bates of Houghton, Mike (Jan) Wilcox of Jackson, and Jim (Margie) Wilcox of Jackson; and seven grandchildren.

As requested, no services will take place for Lorraine.
