Ruth M. Hauring
HANCOCK — Ruth M. Hauring, 89, a former resident of Arbor Green, Houghton, passed away on May 28, 2019, at the Lighthouse at Hancock.
She was born on August 12, 1929, in Laurium, a daughter of the late Isaac and Esther (Manninen) Niemi.
Ruth married Robert Hauring on June 10, 1948, in Hancock. He passed away on July 8, 1996.
Ruth worked in housekeeping at the former King’s Inn in Houghton and also worked in the kitchen at the Suomi Restaurant in Houghton.
She enjoyed playing bingo and working crossword puzzles.
Ruth is survived by a son, Paul of Little Rock, Arkansas; a daughter, Ruth Ann Schoen of Hermansville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes (Dave) Pyykkonen of Houghton, and Jean Garcia of Shreveport, Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by a son, John; and a daughter, Betty.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Hope Fellowship, with Pastor Jon Kangas to officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
