Eva Catherine Miron

L’ANSE — Eva Catherine Miron, 101, of Baraga passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.

She was born September 4, 1918 in Houghton, daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Miron) LaTendresse. Eva grew up in Keweenaw Bay and graduated from Baraga High School in 1936. She married Lester Miron on September 24, 1938 in Assinins. Eva worked as a secretary in Detroit prior to raising her family, then she worked for over 20 years as a secretary for Ford Forestry.

Eva was a member of St Ann’s Church and the Red Hats. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, and playing cards.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; son, Henry Miron; daughters, Amy Burris, Liisa Miron; brothers, George, Joseph, Philip, Henry LaTendresse; sisters, Elizabeth Shelton, Mary Aho, and Blanche Gant.

She is survived by her sons, Jerome (Lynn) Miron of Cadillac, Stephen (Lorraine) Miron of Brighton, Gregory (Phyllis) Miron of Schroeder, Minnesota, Nicholas Miron of Pearce, Arizona; daughters, Virginia Riley of Seattle, Washington, Christine (Gary) Uren of Marquette, Eve Gregerson of Apple Valley, Minnesota; son-in-law, Mark Burris of Everett, Washington; daughter-in-law, Roberta Miron of Detroit; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 15 from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Baraga. Her funeral mass will be at 4 p.m. with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
