Marlene Kathryn Allen

KENTON — Marlene Kathryn Allen, 84, of Kenton, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020, at her son’s home in Kenton with her family by her side.

Marlene was born on November 2, 1935, in Iron River, daughter of Donald and Eleanore (Dooley) McRae. She grew up in Beechwood, and graduated from Iron River High School in 1953.

Marlene married Everett “Mike” Allen on March 5, 1955.

Marlene was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, baking, cross country skiing, and loved picking wild raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. She was a member of the Watton Apostolic Lutheran Church, Duncan Twp Historical Society, 494 Supporters of Trout Creek, and was always willing and able to do volunteer work for local groups or organizations by baking or cooking and serving.

Surviving are her children, James “Eb” (Sally) Allen of Sidnaw, Thomas (Rosana) Allen of Kenton, Kathy Allen of Sidnaw; step children, Larry “Joe” Allen and Sharon Melin-Allen of Grangeville, Idaho; sisters, Jacquelyn Popko of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Elizabeth (Larry) Deneau of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Everett “Mike”; son, Donald; brothers, David and Donald McRae.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 17, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Pastor David Weber officiating.

Burial will be in the Kenton Cemetery in the spring.
