Valerie Jane Dulong

She was born in Hancock on August 17, 1949, a daughter of the late Russell and Mildred (Laakso) Peterson. She was a 1968 graduate of Hancock Central High School.

On January 18, 1976, she was united in marriage to Paul Dulong of Hancock. Valerie worked in a few different retail jobs for several years. After her retirement from Kmart, she became the beloved babysitter for her granddaughters.

Valerie had strong faith and was a member of Hope Fellowship of Houghton.

She enjoyed reading bible scripture, playing solitaire, and doing word search puzzles. She loved to bake and give her goodies to her family, friends, and neighbors. She especially cherished the moments she got to spend with her family.

Besides her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her sisters, Joan and Robin; her brothers, John and Michael.

Surviving are her husband, Paul of Coburntown; daughter, Robin Dulong of Hancock; son, Kevin Dulong of Coburntown; granddaughters, Rheanna and Jaidyn LaRoe of Hancock; grandsons, Kevin and Jon Dulong of Austin, TX; a sister, Kathleen Borski of Royal Oak; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, the funeral service will be held at a later date with burial in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
