Jean Elizabeth Abramson
HOUGHTON — Jean Elizabeth Abramson, 86, of Houghton, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020, following a sudden illness. She was born on January 28, 1934, in Painesdale, one of three children to John and Impi Abramson.
Jean was employed at Michigan Technological University for over 25 years as an operator/dispatcher in the Public Safety Department.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, her incredible pasties were her specialty. Time spent with friends, visiting Casinos and playing bingo were her favorite.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith (Christine) Abramson of Houghton, Jeff Abramson of Marquette; brother, David (Diane) Abramson of Painesdale; nieces, Paula (Bill) LaCasse of Eagle River, Alaska, Valarie Abramson of Mass City, Danielle (Terry) Wiitala of Painesdale; and nephew, John (Kelly) Abramson of Herndon, Va. She will forever be remembered by her two grandchildren, Megan and Dylan Abramson of Houghton. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, John and Impi (Nando Guili); and brother, Russell Abramson.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at UP Health System-Marquette for their care and compassion.
Memorial donations may be made to the BHK – Community Action Agency (Elderly Program) in Jean’s name.
