Karen E. Sirvio

CALUMET — Karen E Sirvio, 86, of Calumet, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at the Lighthouse of Hancock.

Karen was born on November 1, 1933, in Detroit, to the late Howard and Eleanor (Larson) Aho. As a child, they moved to Calumet and she attended the local schools.

She was married to Robert Sirvio on July 23, 1960, at the Community Church in Calumet. Karen worked as a Pharmacy Clerk at Leo’s Drug Store. She cherished her job at the pharmacy and will be remembered by many customers.

She enjoyed gardening, loved to go on picnics with her kids, she was very well read because she loved reading. She loved her family and time spent with them. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Eleanor ( Larson) Aho; daughter, Cathryn Marie Sirvio; and brothers, James Aho and John Aho.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Sirvio of Calumet; daughters, Denise (Greg) Maronen of Calumet Waterworks, Sandra (Glenn) Kivela of Ishpeming, JoAnn (Michael) McDonnell of Negaunee; granddaughter, Macy Jo McDonnell of Florence, Wisconsin; sisters, Claire Kolmonen of Calumet, and Phyllis Hereford of Ishpeming; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Per Karen’s request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service was held.
