Brenda Darnell Pietila
HUBBELL — Brenda Darnell Pietila, passed peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Ardell Taylor; and her older brother, Wendell Wiggins. She is survived by her husband, Eric Pietila; her three daughters, Melodi Harnwell, Candi Burke, and Courtney Johnson; her step-daughter, Chelsae Paduan; her mother, Jessie Taylor; and her brothers, Michael and Marvin Taylor. She is further survived by her four grandchildren, Desiree, Ashley, Adia and Elijah; along with family; step-family; and close friends.
Brenda was born November 16, 1963, growing up in Jena, Louisiana, living there until 1997, when she and her family moved to Wisconsin. She later found her way to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan after meeting her husband, Eric. She made a happy life as a Southern Yooper until she lost her battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with her husband and a daughter by her side.
Brenda will be remembered as a strong, compassionate, funny and loving woman to all she loved, and those who loved her in return. She was an avid lover of cows, roses, and her puppies. She will be forever loved and missed.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Omega House for their kindness and care during the last week of Brenda’s life. Their compassion made this process easier for Brenda and her family.
A ceremony of remembrance gathering will be held at a later date due to Covid restrictions. A notice will be released on a future date for services.
