Geraldine Marie Sibilsky

LAKE, Mich. — Geraldine Marie (Crosby) Sibilsky, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020, at her home in Lake, Michigan with her family by her side.

On January 12, 1943, Gerry was born one of eight children to George and Doris (Bentley) Crosby in Pontiac.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Sibilsky in Andersonville, on October 24, 1964, giving Gerry and Ron just over fifty-five cherished years of marriage together.

Gerry was a proud graduate from the 1960 Class of Clarkston High, the town in which she grew up. Gerry was also a course graduate from MidMichigan College, of which she was very proud. Shortly after graduating, she met Ron and the pair began to start their family. Following Ron’s retirement in 1992, Gerry and Ron moved from the greater Detroit area to Lake in 1994, where they have enjoyed the last twenty-six years. Gerry was an avid quilter and knitter, a terrific cook and gardener, and a lover of all animals-especially her cats Missy and Frankie. She also greatly enjoyed her special day trips around the Michigan lakeshores with her husband Ron.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Ronald Sibilsky of Lake and her two children, Roger (Kymberly) Sibilsky of Dahlonega, Georgia and Wendy (Rodney) Vanderpool of Flushing. Other survivors include Gerry’s siblings, Patricia (Elwin) Hillman of Davisburg, Mary (Jim Boesl) Akerley of Waterford, Eugene (Kathy) Crosby of Grand Rapids, Sharon Torsky of Fort Collins, Colorado, Karen (Rick) Maynard of Atlanta, and George (Judy) Crosby, Jr. of Holly; her brother-in-law, Robert (Darlene) Sibilsky of Houghton; and several nieces, nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, George and Doris Crosby; her sister, Virginia Fountain; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Sibilsky.

In keeping with Gerry’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service in Gerry’s honor will take place at a date, time, and location yet to be determined.

Memorial contributions in honor of Gerry may be directed to the Compassus Hospice Care of Michigan or to the Clare County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be shared on the Sibilsky family page at stephenson-wyman.com.
