James Richard Stimac

Jim was born on November 15, 1945, in Calumet, the son of Anton Joseph and Rose Margret (Butala) Stimac.

On February 22, 1968, in the St. Francis Church in Ann Arbor, he married Barbara Hemenway.

Jim proudly served in the United States Army.

He was an Ann Arbor Police Officer from 1968 until his retirement in 1996. He then worked part time for the Saline Police Department.

Jim enjoyed being with his family foremost. His interests and hobbies included Detroit Tigers baseball, playing softball, skydiving, and motorcycling.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Stimac of Saline; daughter, Nicole (John) Wurst; along with three grandsons, James (19), Sean (17), and Bryce (12) of the Chicago area. Also surviving are his sisters, Rita Erkkila and Delores Kotajarvi; and nephew, Albert Erkkila of Calumet.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
