John Verbanac

CALUMET — John Verbanac, 48, a resident of Calumet, passed away suddenly at his home on the evening of Thursday, October 8, 2020.

He was born on March 19, 1972, in Laurium to Stephen Verbanac and Katherine Berryman. In his younger years, he enjoyed living in Virginia Beach with his mom and stepdad.

John loved music. He was an avid drummer in local bands. He was involved with the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and even was an assistant instructor for a few years.

He enjoyed being a pizza delivery driver, and lately loved flying his drone. He was a family oriented man, where he enjoyed spending time and hanging out with his children.

John was an avid sports fan too! He enjoyed playing softball in the local leagues, and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots as well as the Philadelphia Flyers.

On June 9, 2012, he was united in marriage to Jackie Parkin at the platform in Eagle Harbor.

He’s been known to be a good guy, a respectful gentleman, but still not afraid to speak his mind at times.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Gemma Skye Verbanac, his grandfather, Clyde “Crusher” Berryman, mom, Katherine Teter, and two close friends, Dave Riutta and Jim Chevalier.
