SOUTH RANGE — Robert Hudson of South Range, Michigan, passed away on December 8 peacefully at home after a brief, covid related illness. He was born in Manistee, Michigan, on August 22, 1945, the son of Lt. Col. Robert and Bettigail Hudson, who both preceded him in death.

Robert was a graduate of Michigan Technological University. He was employed by the Adams Township Water Department where he served as water superintendent. Bob was a member of the VFW and a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited

Bob met the love of his life and significant other, Marion Robert, in the Houghton area and after a wonderful life together, Marion preceded Bob in death.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Ron) Hebner, and his granddaughter and “partner in crime” Paige Isaacson. Paige meant the world to Bob. Bob will also be missed by his best friend Mike Isaacson and Mike’s wife Marie. Bob’s beloved cat, Peaches, who was with him for 17 years, also will miss Bob.

In addition, Bob will be missed by his sisters, Lea Hudson, Barb (Scotty) Shimnoski, Suzanne (Karl) Kellawan, and Jeanne Franklin as well as by his brother Rolf (Marilyn) Hudson.

Bob is also survived by his nieces, Andi Hudson, Denya Macaluso, Teya Manker, Rebecca Kellawan, and Holly Weaver, as well as nephews Michael and Bill Minster, Mark and Michael Franklin, Chris Kellawan and Bryan Stephens. Bob will also be greatly missed by his grand niece, Riley Hudson, and grand nephew and fishing buddy, Grant Manker.

Funeral arrangements are through Mountain View Mortuary. Because of the present pandemic, no funeral service will be held at this time. Bob’s family is planning on having a celebration of Bob’s life sometime in the Spring. The family suggests that those wishing to remember Bob consider a gift to Trout Unlimited.
