Allan M. Pennanen

STERLING HEIGHTS — Allan M. Pennanen, 86, a resident of Sterling Heights passed away Saturday, January 2, after a short illness.

He was born on November 16, 1934, in Hancock, son of the late Leonard and Julia (Karjala) Pennanen. Allan was raised in Toivola and was a graduate of Jeffers High School with the class of 1953.

Allan was a veteran having served in both the United States Army and the Naval Reserves.

On October 22, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sandra Kay. The couple had resided in Mount Clemens, Troy, and most recently Sterling Heights.

Allan retired as a lab technician from Ford Motor Company and enjoyed his retirement years traveling with his wife, Sandy.

As part of his travels, he enjoyed attending reunions of the 56th Field Artillery Battalion in many locations across the country.

Surviving Allan are his wife Sandy of Sterling Heights, his sister Patricia Janda, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Per the family’s request, there will not be a service at this time.
