Shirley Ann Frantti

L’ANSE — Shirley Ann Frantti passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2021, at 9 a.m. at Woodhaven Adult Foster Care home, in L’Anse, where she lived for the last 11 years.

Shirley was born on March 12, 1958, in Calumet, to the late parents of Harold and Delores Frantti. She attended the local Calumet public schools.

She is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Marilyn, who passed away in 2016.

She is survived by her older brother; Gary Frantti who lives in Federal Way, Washington. and her older sister; Cheryl Wanhala of Green Bay, Wisconsin. 2 beloved nephews; John Wanhala of Green Bay, and Brad (Rennie) Wanhala of Savannah, Georgia. Her best friend; Charlotte Pleshe, of Lake Linden, who was a wonderful friend and support for her for many years. Also, one aunt and numerous cousins.

Despite having been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 17, she surpassed doctors life expectancy for her. She also dealt with other numerous physical and mental challenges, throughout her lifetime.

Shirley loved to be by Lake Superior. She loved to read and do word search puzzles. She had an indomitable spirit that will live on forever and she was loved by all who knew her, especially the staff at the Woodhaven House, where she spent her last 11 years.

Graveside service is to be held in the spring, at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet. The family is very grateful to the staff of the Woodhaven AFC home in L’Anse, for the wonderful care they provided to Shirley.
