Theodore Nedward Rouse

CALUMET — On Thursday, January 7, 2021, Theodore Nedward Rouse, loving husband, father of four children and beloved pastor, went to meet Jesus at the age of 68.

Theodore was born on November 1, 1952, in Calumet to Bernard and Eleanor (Picard) Rouse. He attended MATC in Milwaukee, where he met and married his wife, Doreen Mary Corbine. They were young and in love and they were married at the ages of 18 and 19 years old.

After having two daughters, Theodore felt the call of God on his life and he attended and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1981. He then went into full time ministry, became an associate Pastor, began traveling in tent evangelism ministry and soon settled down to plant a church in Ironwood. Three years later in 1987, with three children and a fourth on the way, he moved back to Milwaukee and planted and pastored Faith’s Creation Church for over 33 years. Theodore loved to preach and teach the Bible. His heart’s desire was leading people to Jesus. He rarely went into a store or had an encounter with a delivery person without talking to them about Jesus. He wanted to make sure every person he knew had a loving, real relationship with God.

He loved his congregation deeply. His passion was studying the word of God, studying theology and writing books expounding on everything he had learned. Theodore authored over 27 books and was writing his final book right up until the month he passed. He loved music, playing guitar and rewriting old songs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and changing the lyrics to honor Jesus. He loved taking trips (especially to Branson) and spending time with his family. He had so much love for his grandchildren. He loved to play video games with them and show them funny YouTube videos. Many times at family gatherings, you could find him sitting with the grandkids in the other room by his big TV and playing video games and watching videos together with them.

Theodore was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; and his mother, Eleanor. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie and Kathleen.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen; his children, Julie (Jeffrey), Jennifer (Clayton), Jonathan, and Joanna (Joshua); hisgrandchildren, Ethan, Wesley, Ashtyn, Jada, Leila, Jude, Wyatt, Charlie and Liv and his sister, Patricia (Richard); his brothers, Thomas and Bernard (Joyce) and his sister, Beverly (Harley). He had dozens of in-laws, nephews and nieces that have both preceded his passing and survived him.

There will be a private funeral service for Theodore in his hometown of Calumet, on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 11 a.m.

There will be a public Celebration of Life service for Theodore on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 7 p.m. at Passion Church in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. This service will also be livestreamed for convenience on Facebook live.

In lieu of flowers, we are inviting you to be a blessing to his wife, Doreen, as she transitions to this new phase of life. We would like to help her pay off the many medical costs that have accumulated. You can give to a GoFundMe account in her name at https://gofund.me/7ab0f4d9 -The name of the account is Honoring the Legacy of Pastor Ted.

In the many statements that Pastor Ted Rouse was well known for, the two he would most likely want to leave you with in his passing to Heaven are these two: “Just stick with the Word, the whole Word and nothing but the Word.” And of course, we will never forget “Stay excited about Jesus!”
