Lydiann Byler
BARAGA — Lydiann Byler, 95, of Baraga, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born February 19, 1926, in Mount Eaton, Ohio, daughter of David (Cane Dave) and Sarah (Troyer) Yoder.
She married Joni Byler on December 12, 1944, in Mount Eaton. They moved to British Columbia, Canada, in 1967, then to Alberta in 1980, and in 1988, they moved to Baraga, where she was a member of the Pelkie Mennonite Church.
Lydiann possessed a deep love for her Lord, which was reflected in her love to her family, and hospitality to her many friends and neighbors around her. She enjoyed working, gardening, cleaning, and preparing many meals for company, along with her hobbies of quilting, crocheting, and piecing puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Byler of Baraga, Emanuel (Miriam) Byler of Chassell, Miriam (Joe) Yoder of Baraga, Sylvia (Galen) Yoder of Pelkie, Irene (John) Trinier of Mountain Rd. Manitoba, Canada, Daniel (Ruth) Byler of Pelkie, Joseph (Matilda) Byler of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Jonathan (Valora) Byler of Baraga. She had 45 grandchildren, 136 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Joni Byler; son, David Byler; granddaughter, Deloris Yoder (stillborn); grandson, Benjamin Trinier; and all her siblings: Noah Yoder, Mary Yoder, Mose Yoder, Lizzie Miller, Mattie Miller, Rebecca Miller, Emma Miller, Sarah Shetler, Susie Nisley, Eli Yoder, and Katie Miller.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the Pelkie Mennonite School.
Her funeral service will be on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Pelkie Mennonite School. Burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
