Gary Robert Shea

Gary was born in Hancock on August 28, 1959, to Robert and Shirley Shea of Calumet.

He graduated from Calumet High School and then Michigan Technological University with a degree in civil engineering.

He met and married his wife Maria in Florida. They owned and operated a successful engineer firm in Jupiter, Florida, until their retirement to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Gary was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and traveling the United States exploring the national parks. He was a man of many talents, who shared his knowledge, skills, and time with others freely. He loved dogs, several of which, he and Maria, rescued. Gary was a man of faith and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his mother, Shirley Shea.

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria Shea; his father, Robert and Donna Shea; his brothers Mark, Mike, Gregg, and David; his sister Kelly Ogden (and their spouses); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service for family will be held later.
