Harry Wesley Hannula

MARQUETTE — Harry Wesley Hannula, age 86, entered eternal life Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Trillium Hospice House, under the loving care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Born May 27, 1935, in Laurium, a son of Eino and Irma (Abramson) Hannula, he was raised in Woodland Location and graduated from Calumet High School in 1952.

He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1955 through January 1959. Following his honorable discharge.

Harry and Lois were “snowbirds” for 27 years after he retired, spending many of those winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. He enjoyed going to “camp”, which was a log cabin that he designed and built beginning in 1976.

Harry was an “old car” enthusiast. He was the proud owner of a 1931 Oakland (his grandfather’s last car) and a 1950 Ford pickup, both of which he completely restored himself. He was the coordinator for the Old Car Pasty Crew in the Marquette area, and he belonged to the Superior A Car Club. Harry was also a member of several national car clubs, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Randell.
