FENTON -- Peter Francis Ormsby, died at age 85, Friday, on July 2, 2021. Peter was born September 26, 1935, in Laurium, the son of John Dingle and Juliette (Garvais) Ormsby.
He was a 1953, graduate of Calumet High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Peter married Marian T. Belobradich April 19, 1958, in Calumet.
Peter resided in Fenton since 1972, coming from Mohawk; and after he retired they would spend the summers in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Peter retired in 2000, from GM Fisher Body Grand Blanc Plant after 22 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Peter was an avid reader, and a Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandson, and spending time with his family. He also liked to go to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Ormsby.
Surviving him are his wife, of 63 years, Marian; children, Steven (Gina) Ormsby of Linden, Lynn Ormsby of Fenton, Dave (Inger) Ormsby of Linden, Bruce (Sonia) Ormsby of Atoka, Tennesee, Karen Ormsby of Fenton, Julie (Mike) Lazzara of South Lyon, and Christopher (Stephanie) Ormsby of Gaines; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters, Jacqueline (John) Dahlgren of Mohawk and Kathryn Mills of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nephews.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fr. David Harvey officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
