Charles E. ‘Chuck’ Aho

CHASSELL — Charles E. “Chuck” Aho, 70, a resident of the Creamery Road in Chassell passed away August 30, 2021, at UP Health System – Portage following a short illness.

Chuck was born on November 22, 1950, in Waukegan, Illinois, to the late Charles P. and Dorothy (Manuelson) Aho.

He was raised in Mundelein, Illinois, where he graduated from Mundelein High School with the class of 1968.

Chuck began college for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Army where he honorably served overseas as an assistant chaplain from 1971-73. Following his discharge, Chuck began a career with the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Following retirement, Chuck moved to the Copper Country and made his home in Chassell.

Chuck enjoyed snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking and being outdoors. He frequently studied theology and was active with bible studies and attending christian conferences.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for Chuck will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Chassell with Pastor Tom Wright officiating.

Burial will be held in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock with military honors rendered by the Copper Country Veterans Association at 1:30 p.m.

Visitation will held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
