Kimberly Sue Besonen
PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Kimberly “Kimmy” Sue Besonen, 64, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on August 24, 2021, after a brief illness with pneumonia and COVID-19 at her home in Prescott.
Kimmy was born to Lloyd and Grace Norgren in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on their first wedding anniversary, June 23, 1957.
After graduating from Cooper High School in New Hope, Minnesota, she went on to marry Darrell Besonen, whom she had met in Sunday School at Plymouth Apostolic Lutheran Church, on August 2, 1975.
Together they were blessed with four children and eight grandchildren, and recently celebrated their 46th anniversary of marriage.
In addition to being a devoted caregiver to her family, Kim also worked many different jobs in offices, restaurants, stores, and factories and lived in cities all over the country in the states of Minnesota, Upper Michigan, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arizona. In each location she became well known as a dedicated coworker and beloved friend. Most recently she was so proud to have just passed her exam to become a licensed pharmacy technician at Walmart pharmacy in Prescott.
Kimmy enjoyed being with her dogs, had a lifelong dream of having a horse, loved cooking and baking for her family, and always looked forward to getting together with friends for some laughs. She was a fun and loving person who always gave more than she asked for.
Kimberly Sue is survived by her husband, Darrell; her children, Erika, Jarod, Tricia, and Jesse; her grandchildren, Josiah, Mariam, Bryanna, Lydia, Paxton, Jeremiah, and Jaxon; her mother, Grace; her siblings, Tod, Lee, Bradley, and Jennifer; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
