Scott James Willmes
SHREVEPORT, La. — Scott James Willmes, 50, of Shreveport, formerly of Lake Linden, passed away on September 4, 2021.
Scott was born in White Pine, on July 19, 1971.
He graduated from Lake Linden Hubbell High School in 1989.
Scott served in the United States Air Force for eight years as a jet engine mechanic at K.I. Sawyer and Barksdale Air Force Base.
He was a successful self-employed entrepreneur as the owner of First Choice Lawn Care since 1995 and was involved in many other business ventures. Scott was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Elks Lodge No. 122.
In his free time, Scott loved camping, boating, and watching football. He always cheered for the Green Bay Packers – Go Pack go! He was always on the go, running his business, diving into construction projects, and spending time with his family and friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his father, James Alfred Willmes; and his father-in-law, David E. Tordone.
He is survived by his fiance, Lauren Tordone, and their daughter, Emma Grace (9); mother, Joan Alene Willmes; sister, Beth MacKenzie and husband, Bryan, and their children, Ava (15) and Connor (11); mother-in-law, Linda Tordone; sister-in-law, Kristen Robinson and husband, Mat, and their daughters, Molly (4) and Kayleigh (9 mos.); brother-in-law, David Tordone and wife, Marielle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Scott was a devoted father and fiance, loving son, caring brother, and best friend to so many. Memories of him will be held close to the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed!
Services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 522 E. Flournoy Lucas Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. He will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd. in Bossier City, Louisiana.
