Carol Sickler

AHMEEK — Carol Sickler, 63, a former resident of Ahmeek passed away on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at the Greentree of Hubbell.

She was born on May 2, 1958, in Laurium to Edward “Carl” and Margaret (Lundin) Mattila. She attended the local schools and graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1976.

Carol worked as a data entry analyst for many years working at Michigan Technological University, transferring through many buildings.

She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, the Andy Griffith Show, and The Price is Right. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Waylon. Anytime her family was visiting, you knew she’d have some sort of treat waiting for them.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Mohawk.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margaret Mattila.

She is survived by: daughter, Jessie (Josh) Spelich of Mohawk; grandson, Waylon Spelich of Mohawk; brother, Geno Mattila of Mohawk; nephew, Luke Mattila of Calumet; her beloved dog, Diesel, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The memorial service will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Larry Molloy to officiate. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.

Burial will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
