Donald L. Laplander
CALUMET — Donald L. Laplander, 76, a resident of Calumet passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Marshfield Clinic.
He was born on November 24, 1944, in Highland Park to Uno and Elsie (Linquist) Laplander.
He attended the local schools. Following high school, Donald began working in the C&H Mining Company and the Homestake Mining Company.
He then went on to serve with the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1964.
On January 8, 1965, he was united in marriage to Janet Vincent and she preceded him in death on November 30, 1997.
Donald worked as a mechanic at Dave’s Auto for several years and then went on to work at Stranwood Molding until they closed in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his parents Uno and Elsie Laplander, and his siblings Elaine Dings, Doug Paul Laplander, Leslie Laplander, and Barbara Haataja.
He is survived by his sons, Sonny Laplander of Calumet, Dennis (Heidi) Laplander of Calumet, Eric (Heather) Laplander of Rubicon, Wisconsin; daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Parent of Rubicon, Wisconsin, Mindy (Dan) Dueck) of Hartford, Wisconsin, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins
A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 16, 2021, at 1 p.m. in Section 69 of the Lake View Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
