Luann Bastian

LAURIUM — Luann Bastian, 73, of Laurium passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, October 4, 2021.
She was born in Laurium, a daughter of the late Benedict and Lucy (Tamborino) Destrempes.
She graduated from Dollar Bay High School with the class of 1966 and later attended the University of Michigan.
On August 24, 1966, she was united in marriage to David Bastian in Sacred Heart Church in Calumet.
She retired in 2003 as an executive secretary for the directors office at the State of Michigan in Lansing.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and pinochole. She loved the time she spent with her children & grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother in law, grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Surviving Luann are her husband David; sons, James Bastian of Ahmeek, John Bastian of Mohawk; daughter, Lauri (Brian) Smith of Charlotte; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Zachary, Dominic, Meadow, Daisy, Joel and Hunter; great Grandchildren, Marius, Jaelynn and Amara; special cousins, Ed and Jana Jenich, Janelle (Jenich) Gronevelt, and Jenn Jenich-Laplander and numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday October 10, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:45 p.m.
A Funeral mass will be held Monday October 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church 56512 Rockland Street Calumet, Michigan 49913.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
