John M. Tuomi
SPRINGHILL, Fla. — The family of John M. Tuomi of Springhill, Florida, is saddened to announce his passing on December 9, 2021, at the age of 69.
He was born, raised and started his own family in the Upper Peninsula before moving to Texas and finally retiring from the cooling tower business in Florida. In retirement John took over his wife’s business of breeding and raising exotic birds; this was his passion until he passed. John was a shining example of hard work and integrity and never let any physical ailment slow him down.
John was predeceased by his wife, Mona and his parents Ellen and Carl.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Danielle, Greg (Erica), Guy (Mirian); his step-children, Scott, Mark (Bev), Phil (Nikki), Lori (Robert), Nicole (James); his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Susan) as well as numerous relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be arranged in the summer months of 2022 in the Upper Peninsula; details will be posted in the Mining Gazette prior.
