Robert W. (Bob) Crampton
ALLOUEZ — Robert W. (Bob) Crampton, 79 of Allouez, passed away on December 16, 2021, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on July 13, 1942, in East Lansing. He moved to the U.P. of Michigan in 1978, to further pursue his life’s calling of being a surveyor, at UP Engineering. He went on to open Crampton Surveying and spent the rest of his 50+ year profession doing what he loved.
When he moved to the U.P., he came with his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Patti) Crampton, and they spent the rest of their years enjoying the Keweenaw Peninsula, operating the Eagle Harbor General Store, golfing, camping, fishing, refurbishing his 1946 Ford pick up and spending time with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Marvelene (Molly) Crampton; son Robert Crampton; sister, Linda Fennis and brother Rick Crampton.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Patti) Crampton; son, David Crampton; daughter, Tricia Crampton/Tony Spagnotti and Jamie (Jim) Dube; sister, Kathy Sedell; brother, Dan Crampton; grandchildren, Candice (Adam) Miles, Christopher (Phaedra) LaBonte, Timery (Sean) Minch, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer.
