Breanna Leigh Papke-Makela

She was born on August 27, 1994, in Hancock, a daughter to Ronald and Bonita (Kowalski) Papke.

She was raised in Paradise Rd. and attended the Hancock and Houghton schools before graduating from Jeffers High School with the class of 2013.

Following high School Breanna had worked for Holiday Inn Express and Culver’s, where she had been a manager.

On August 17, 2019, Breanna was united in marriage to John Makela. The couple had been together the past 11 years and had resided in Calumet and Chassell.

Breanna enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time with her family and pets.

Also preceding her in death were her paternal grandfather, Emil C. Papke; maternal grandfather, Richard C. Kowalski; aunts, Patricia J. Kowalski and Brenda Lee Kowalski.

Surviving are parents, Ronald and Bonita Papke; brother, Bradley (Rebecca) Papke of and their children, Adeline, Nora and Penelope; sister, Amanda (Charlie Huhta) Papke and their three children; sisters, Natasha and Autumn; maternal grandmother, Jean Kowalski; paternal grandmother, Alice Papke; special aunt, Theresa Hamli; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Breanna’s life will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, in South Range at 30 Trimountain Ave. from 2 to 4 p.m.
