Michael M. Kezele

KINGSFORD — Michael M. Kezele, 82, a resident of Kingsford, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 19, 1939, in Laurium to Matt and Katherine (Rozich) Kezele. He attended the local schools.

Mike then went to work in the mines for a few years, before enlisting in the United States Army.

He was honorably discharged in July of 1959. He then went to work at White Pine Mine and at the CLK Schools as a bus driver and mechanic.

Michael raised his four children and loved spending time with them. He also loved playing his guitar and teaching his grandchildren how to play the guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked going for walks.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Katherine Kezele; his granddaughter, Susan Harri; and his grandson, Michael Kezele.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ahmeek.

He is survived by his children, Theresa Kezele of Arizona, Lisa Kezele of Calumet, Michael (Ginny) Kezele of Ahmeek, Cindy (Chuck) Book of Kearsarge; his grandchildren, Hillary (Michael) Maninga, Charidan Book, Joshua Book, Kevin Kezele, Keith Harri and Jeff Kruczynski; his great-grandchild, Meric Kezele; his brother, Bob (JoAnn) Kezele of Mohawk; his sister, Barbara Kezele of Hancock; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Father Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate. A visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
