CALUMET — Susan Rokicki passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022.

Susan was a gifted pianist, a devoted piano instructor, and a passionate lover of music. She loved teaching and developed warm and supportive relationships with her students, many of whom kept in touch with her over the years.

Susan resided in several locations throughout the United States and made close friendships wherever she lived. In the 1980s and 1990s, Susan made Corrales, New Mexico, her home, and she became deeply attached to the local community and the people and culture of New Mexico.

Susan was a dedicated member of Soka Gakkai International (SGI), a Buddhist religious movement.

Her other interests included alternative medicine, history, and anthropology, particularly Native American culture. She also enjoyed exploring her Norwegian ancestry.

During the past two decades, Susan lived in Calumet, Michigan, with her partner, Joseph Mihal. Together, they were actively involved in the Norwegian Lutheran Church Historical Society, the Sons of Norway and the Calumet community.

Susan’s survivors include her partner, four children, four grandchildren, a brother, a sister, numerous other family members, her former spouse, and friends throughout the United States.
