Janet D. Niemi

Janet was born on February 2, 1953, in Hancock to the late Carl & Marion (Hodge) Niemi. She was raised in Hancock and was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1972. Janet was employed at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for around 40 years. She enjoyed travelling and seeing many states.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a boyfriend, Dave Waisanen.

She is survived by her brother, Brian Niemi of Tamarack, cousins, and a special friend Fay Kemppainen.

A memorial service for Janet will be held at 1pm on July 7, 2022, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home – Hancock Chapel with Pastor Brian Knight to officiate. Visitation will be held from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
