Madonna Mae ‘Donna’ Maiala

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Madonna Mae “Donna” Maijala, 90, formerly of Houghton, passed away at a hospice facility near Milwaukee on October 16, 2021.

She was born on August 23, 1931, to the late Ernest and Jenny Neault and lived much of her life in the Copper Country. She married the love of her life, Larry D. Maijala.

She was the loving mother of Deborah Maijala, Denise Maijala, Roger (Renee) Maijala, Lori (James) Holtz, and Scott (Gina) Maijala; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Larry D. Maijala; a son, Mark Maijala; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Donna loved life, her husband, and her family. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She also had one of the biggest hearts of anyone you will ever meet.

So in her honor, please wear something bright, smile, and be kind. She would love that.

Mark D. Maijala passed away on January 2, 2022, and would have been 68 the same month.

Mark is survived by his three daughters, Crystal (Rob) Hadden, Sarah Maijala, Melissa Maijala, and friend Carol. He also had eight grandchildren.

A Memorial Service Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M. on October 15, 2022, at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton with Rev. Father John Martignon to officiate.
