Julie (Hill) Zander

Julie was born and raised in Copper City and graduated with the Calumet High School class of 1982. She attended Finlandia University and Northern Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Marketing.

After graduation, Julie accepted a position in Minneapolis where she met and married her husband Richard in 1993. In 1995 they welcomed their beloved son, Jacob and shortly thereafter they made a brief move back to the Copper Country before settling in Florida where she launched her new business, JZ Marketing, Inc. Recent health issues forced her to reluctantly sell her highly successful business and to take an early retirement.

Julie is preceded in death by her father, Freddy Meyers, and her brother, David Hill.

Surviving are her devoted husband, Richard and son Jacob, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, mother, Joann Meyers of Copper City, sisters, Cindy (Guy) Pellegrini of Mohawk and Terry Jo (James) Bates of Sacramento, California, mother-in-law, Hilda Zander, and sister and brother-in-law Patti and Paul Humphryes of Arizona, nieces and nephews, Ty Pellegrini, Erin, Amanda and Joseph Bates and Ashley and Caitlin Humphryes, life-long best friend, Julie Lyle, several aunts, cousins and her beloved golden doodle, Tucker Willoughby.

A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 705 Leeland Heights Blvd, East, Lehigh Acres, Florida on Saturday, January 7th at 11am. Julie’s final wish was to be laid to rest next to her Daddy and big brother, David. A memorial to grant her wish will be held in the summer at the Calverly Cemetery, Ahmeek, MI.
