Robert Paul Black Jr.

Robert Paul Black Jr. was born in Thief River Falls, MN on May 26, 1940 to Robert P Black Sr. and Alice C. Black (Gigstad).

Bob grew up and attended school in St. Hilaire, MN; after which he attended Agricultural College in Minneapolis for a time.

After serving in the Army (in Germany) he returned to Minneapolis in 1963 and married Marilyn Anderson. They raised five children, while Bob worked as a trucking company owner/operator. He ran the business successfully for over 45 years.

In 1984 Bob moved his family to Wickenburg, AZ after semi-retiring.

In 1986, Bob married Ruth (Christine) Coe and the family moved to Elk River, MN.

In 2000 the Blacks moved to their home in Eagle Harbor, MI. Bob had a passion for restoring and driving old collector cars, riding ATVs, boating and exploring Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula with his wife, family and friends. Few roads were left unexplored.

He had a quick wit and wonderful smile. His garage was a favorite place to gather with family and friends. He could often be spotted sitting outside in the sun; with a cup of coffee and a beloved dog by his side.

Bob passed away at 82 in Yuma, AZ on Dec. 1, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Eagle Harbor on Sept. 2, 2023.
