She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth & Ruth (Bammert) Karpinen from Madison Heights, MI and her cherished younger sister, Nancy Karpinen of Houghton.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Wall (Lawrence) of Houghton, and her brothers, Robert Karpinen of Rochester Hills & Steven Karpinen (Amy) of Troy, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Susan was an avid reader who loved spending time outdoors.
A private family graveside service was held in the Mt. View Cemetery in South Range.
The Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
