Esko Joel Carlson
Calumet — Esko Joel Carlson, 7, the soft heart Loving boy of Joel and Kara (Blomquiste) Carlson suddenly passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, while swimming with his friends.
Esko was born on August 30, 2015, in Watertown, South Dakota, and resided there until moving with his family to make their home in Calumet this past January. He was attending school at the Lake Linden Elementary School.
Esko was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock. He loved playing cowboy, shooting guns, riding his bike and swimming with his friends.
Preceding him in death were his great-grandparents: Millie & Robert Blomquist and Leo Tanninen.
Surviving are: his parents, Joel & Kara Carlson of Calumet; his sisters and brother, Marielle, Boden and Maija; his grandparents, William and Julia Blomquiste of Elk River, MN; his paternal grandparents, Daniel & Donna Carlson of Florida Location; his great-grandparents, Dave and Annette Carlson, Larry & Paula Johnston, & Toini Tanninen; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service for Esko will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock, with Doug Wuebben to officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery of Ahmeek.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
This soft-hearted loving boy that was so forgiving will always be remembered.
